We are doing Experiencing God at our church on Sundays. Since we haven't moved yet due to the remodeling of the parsonage we have a 45 minute to hour drive. We have been using this time to have the girls share their memory verses. The other day I had them text them to me. smile. It is so important that we help them hide God's word in their hearts. I will not always be with them; but the Holy Spirit can bring it to rememberance. The younger 2 girls are also learning verses about unity and brotherly love every time we start to have verbal issues. smile. At first I was weary of the drive; but now I see it as a blessing of family time for us. I will always remember Ephesians 4:32 as one of the first verses I could say as a child. Mom would make us say it every time my sister and I had issues with each other. That verse was said so many times it will forever be implanted on my heart.- I never have to review it. smile. Sometimes at night when I can't sleep, I start with Genesis and say every verse I have memorized and then move on to the next book. I never make it to Revelation before I fall asleep. One thing I have noticed is that I can't say a verse from each book of the Bible. Maybe I need to work on that. Can you? One lesson we had a camp when I was in Junior High was about living in a closed country with no Bibles. The only Bible you have is what you have memorized. They put us in groups and gave us time to write down every verse we knew by memory. Needless to say our"Bible" wasn't very big. That has always stuck with me and I have used that illustration several times through the years as I teach junior high girls' Sunday School. I try bribing etc to help them learn verses. They may do it for the prize; but I hope the greater prize is that one day that verse will be recalled by the Holy Spirit to help them in their time of need.

This is my favorite place in our yard. Lately it has become a place of preciousness to us and our girls. A time of fellowship and a place of tears; it holds precious memories. We want to take the swing with us; unfortunately we can't take the tree.

Pink Hair

2 Oldest girls left for camp yesterday. K had to have pink hair. Sh opted for clip in pink hair. We dropped the girls off and were getting to ready to go to the new church when another painful spasm hit again. The weekend had been bad with pain and blood; but Sunday had been good. Just one time of painkillers. He preached on a stool using a heating pad. We were so frustrated. Back to Waco we went to have xrays done. They are clear. The doctor just said to remember that K's surgery had been more than he usually does. The stone was big and stuck and he really had to work. His bladder area was still traumatized and would take a little longer to heal. Thank God for adapters in the car and heating pads since our heated seats aren't hot enough. Thank God for the man had the Honda place who wired my protective plate on under the car til we can come back and have it replaced. (I didn't pay attention and tried to drive over a parking place bumper) oops~~~~~~~~ been dragging the protective plate around with me. AT least I made the service people at honda smile and laugh. It was a little harder with the girl who collects your money and make appointments for follow ups. She actually cracked a smile when I said that we were getting to see each other so much it looked like we were going to be friends. I'll see you next week.( actually it was a cracked smile that said who is this crazy lady?)

Don't when it started; but I try to make people smile. It has become a game for me. The harder they are to crack the more ammunition I try to pull out. There could be worse hobbies.

Feed on His Faithfulness

I read psalm 37 in the Daily Light. It is daily collections of scripture on a theme. This translation said to "feed on his faithfulness." The words pierced my heart. What do I feed upon? That is my goal to dwell there and feed on his faithfulness and not my worries or the wrongs done to me.

What God is teaching me

In years past God has given me a word for the year. One year I concentrated on "secret Place", another year "dwell". This year I am working through God's love for me and the attitude Joseph had coupled with the verse that our fight is not against flesh and blood. I see the direction God is moving me, but not all pieces revealed. Learning and searching. I have been blessed beyond all measure by the sweet church family we have been united with. I eagerly await to see us fulfill the purpose God has for us.

I have blessed and I have been overwhelmed this week. K was honored with 5 academic awards at the high school academic awards banquet. Sp was honored with an award for reading at her award assembly. Sh graduated from 8th grade and received the history award. I have also taken my husband to the er twice. Once on our 20th anniversary ( in sickness and in health). I have led music for bacaulearte of the new school my children will attend next year. My mother - n- law and grandmother - n- law are also in the hospital. I have chased after a MIA student and watched an ambulance transfer my husband to a larger hospital for surgery. I experienced two fire alarms in the hospital while my husband was going to get xrays. I am now awaiting the removal of a stint on Thursday. I have missed 2 days of work and had to work today to finish up. My husband has been in a total of 3 different hospital rooms this week. Sp had gymnastic awards. K has been to Austin and her OAP won 1st runner up at state. I have been blessed by my family and friends who have stayed with me and driven the distances with me. My new church family who has been so precious to us. We are blessed.

We are on our way home from a long weekend. Thirty minutes from home I receive a text message from my child in the backseat. I'm driving. "Mommy, I am so sorry. Please don't be mad." I texted yes while driving "what". "My retainers are in a napkin back at the restaurant" Now at least an hour a way. I turn down the volume of the movie and voice it out loud. Now Daddy knows. She texted me in the driver's seat, Kelly was in the seat behind me and she was in the back. Like he wouldn't find out. smile. We called information to get the restaurant's number. The manager was sweet and tried to find it in the trash. Nothing. We called and order the retainers today. One of those I really am a mom moment. Thankfully I responded calmly and with love. Thank you Lord.

We would so get tickled with Sh when she was young. She was never inhibited about sharing Jesus with anyone anywhere. Sometimes it was almost embarrasing about how adamant she was and wouldn't let it drop. An older woman showed me how to handle the situations by helping the other people out but not squelching Sh. Anyway, its been awhile and I was wondering if I had "damaged" that gift early on. God showed me it was still there tonight. On the way home from the track meet we discussed the fact that we are moving etc and the reactions of people in our town. Its hard for them to comprehend us right now. It doesn't make any worldly sense at all. AS sh so aptly puts it we are being Abraham and Sarah. She was sharing this with a friend today. ""Do you know who Abraham is?" "Well, God called him to go, but he didn't tell him where. Abraham had to have faith that God would show him where. And God did. Simply put - God is shared. She shares with anyone who will listen. Oh precious Father we have no idea the impact we are having as people are watching us. Please allow us to follow you with a submissive and willing spirit. Thank you for this opportunity.

Spring Break

This has been a crazy couple of weeks. Some of my 4th graders are participating in a Twisted Weather contest. We had to film our video and finish our brochure. Thank the Lord for our computer guy who was patient and help upload everything to the Wiki and school tube etc. I'm proud of my guys. We can honestly say they did everything.
We went to visit our forever friends in San Antonio. We spent time on the Riverwalk and went to this cool movie theater that serves food while you watch. So cool!!!!!!! We all got real food, but our eldest had chocolate cake for supper. Go figure!

Sunday we told the church that Kelly would be resigning. As Sh so aplty puts it we are being Abraham and Sarah. God has been so precious to me during this time.

We are blessed with precious friends who love us here and they rallied around us and supported us 100% even though they don't understand fully what is going on and what God is doing. He has been so good to encourage us and support us. K has recieved several mini service opportunities in the next couple of weeks. We are excited about the possible doors He is opening for us. Our main concern is our girls, but we don't want to rob them of what God is going to use in their lives.

We went to visit my folks and see my sister and her family. We went EAster dress shopping, driving lessons in the pasture etc. Kel has decided my van rocks. Of course she was bossing Sophia the whole time for music selections. Fine with me becuase she is not allowed to touch the audio controls. She can talk to Sophia all she wants!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also are included are some pics of our friend's daughter and the sucker she got out of K's office. What was he thinking? A ring pop with a spring on it. I'm surprised that light bulb didn't light up too.
Also of Sp getting to pay for our food at the passenger side drive thru at Chick Fil A. Of course, we still had to go to McD for her.
Kel is a reading machine, it is hard to keep her supplied in books.

I miss my sweetheart terribly and so glad he comes home today. One precious thing has happened while he was gone is that I have had some amazing times with the girls since I'm the only parent. I get frustrated with being the driver and driving all afternoon picking up one child and dropping off another. Yet, the most amazing one on one conversations happen during this time. My middle child, the loyal and faithful one, told me if something ever happens to Daddy you can move in with my husband and I. You're my best friend!!!!!! I'm tearing up as I type this. Oh Father thank you so much. The sweet cuddly baby calls at 10:30 last night on my phone says good night with a choke in her voice. "Baby, what's wrong? I just miss you." "I Will come get you." Trying to be brave, " No, I'm just cryey." I reply "Do you want me to come get you?" "Yes" Middle child and I crawl out from under the covers where we are watching Pride and Pred. and drive to another small town to pick her up. She loves the friend she is staying with but 2 nights is a little too much. Honey comes along too. We get home and all 3 crawl back into bed to finish the movie and sleep. Precious Memories. Where's the 15 year old? Eating homemade chocolate chip cookies and watching some TV. She snuggles and loves but on her agenda. She gave out Friday night so I didn't get much from her yesterday. Smile. She is so me!!!!!!!!!! I always know what she is thinking. blessing or curse?

Insecurities

Today I faced a new area I'm trying to conquer. In some ways I did well and others I totally blew it. I still have my self esteem wrapped in approval. Today that scab was ripped off and boy did the tears flow. I talked to God, my acct partner, and my girls. What made me smile was the advice my 11 and 13 year old gave me. The same advice I give them. They are listening and they gave it with such gentleness. There is nothing more precious than to have your children pray over you. Saw the book SEARCH for SIGNIFICANCE was 50 % off today. A sign? Ok I bought it. Started a long time ago - never finished. A godly mentor in my life had recommended it. I will finish this time and I will not fear reign in this insecurity. I will get back up again and DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

February 8 is one of those days - a marker that you will never forget. 11 years ago we found out our 4 year old had cancer. At this point no one knew any details, the oncologists feared it was 75% throughout her body. Found out years later that the huge tumor had burst because it had run out of room in her small body. I rejoice every year and tears form as this date comes around. I am reminded how undeserving we are of the awesome miracles God performs. We are blessed He saved our precious K and has allowed her to live without any of the side effects. We have been cancer free almost 11 years. Just within the last year I found out more issues she could have had and horrible side effects of the chemo that would have lasted a lifetime. I don't know why God allowed us to be healed and others He heals by taking them home to HIm. WE are blessed.

Sweet and Frustrating

Last night our Bible study was on the power of a woman's words with her friends. I was blessed by our group time. I fell behind on personal study this week due to DN etc. I was also blessed with a heaping of encouraging words from someone I respect. It was so what I needed to hear and such a precious gift. I thanked God for that gift of words. I come home to find out though that my husband was visited by the INQUISTION. A church member who wanted to check on 2 things from DN. No words of encouragement. No good job you had 96 kids. No - I heard the church was packed out you had to bring in chairs Sunday morning for service. No- I heard it went smoothly. No - You brought in an awesome speaker. NOTHING. It totally broke my heart. I was reminded again of the study earlier. Our leader said unfortunately now we live in a society when no news is good news. So if you don't hear anything negative you have to assume you've done a good job. The only time you are going to hear anything is if its wrong. How sad that attitude has also entered the church. I don't know how many Scriptures we read last night about encouraging our leaders. Ugggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh! Pray for me this particular person can really get my goat! I struggle to love someone who I think should know better. I am praying against perception from the enemy. Maybe they don't realize how they sound or come across. I ask God what are you trying to teach my husband and me through this. I am reminding K though of all the people who were blessed by his leading from the Holy Spirit. We have seen some really neat things starting to happen with our teens. We had parents come to church Sunday who have never graced the doors of our church. The gospel was presented clearly, admonishingly, and unashamedly. We were encouraged by our speaker that the spiritual training begins at home. He boldly spoke to daddys, mommas, and grandparents words that desperately needed to be spoken. I am constantly reminded of a quote from Beth Moore's study on Fruits of Spirit where she quoted Scripture saying we were brought here to bring life to you but it brought death to us. I keep encouraging my husband and myself that we are bringing life and God is just raising to the surface anything that is not of Him that needs to be demolished and removed. Oh but it hurts. Where is the balm??? As I was looking in Bible to write the scripture I am emailing in to the memory accountability at LPM I stumbled across a different verse. I learned it once before, but apparently it needs to be relearned.

God is the blessed controller of all things. The king over all kings and the master of all masters. (ITim6:15 phillips)
Lord you have assigned me my portion and my cup you have made my lot secure.
Psalm 16:5.

So today I will walk in truth. I will not allow man to influence my feelings. I will remember that God is in control and not let others actions cause me to be bitter. I will remember that we are here to please God and not others. WE are accountable to him. I will pray for and entrust those in our family who are negative to His hands and let him deal with it in his way. I will trust and focus on Him - the KING OF ALL KINGS, AND THE MASTER OF ALL MASTERS. In the words of the song, as I "turn my eyes upon Jesus and look full in His wonderful face that the things of earth will go strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace."

A New Year

I love the New Year. A chance to start again with a clean slate. I especially am looking forward to it this year since I went back to teaching. Things have been a little crazy and needless to say things around the house etc. have a tendency to go undone. I have enjoyed 2 weeks off. I have enjoyed cleaning. imagine. smile. It has been nice to have longer quiet times and really have time to be quiet. I am working on THE POWER OF A WOMAN'S WORDS BY SHARON JAYNES for Wed. night Bible Study. I have supplemented it some with Elizabeth George's WOMEN OF THE BIBLE. I also have started Beth Moore's JOHN book. I am so excited about it. It also looks fun. It is a beautiful blue, the pages are uneven on the ends, and the type is in blue. One thing I have learned lately with teaching is that different colors of ink and fun papers keep you going.

I'm looking forward to God revealing answers to me about questions we have been discussing together.
One that will not resolve itself is-
How can Christians serving in the same area come to such differences of opinions of ministry and each other. I see it all the time in my life and and other close friends who are serving. We love Him and we spend time with Him so.......? I am coming to the conclusion that the enemy has a way of distorting our perceptions of each other and then we continue to view them and the things they do in that light. I am specifically praying against that this year! K has also come to the conclusion that love is so a part of it. Love is the perfect bond of unity. Maybe we trully don't love each other like we think we do. It will probably never be resolved until Heaven; but I'm not giving up.

I haven't posted in a long time because there is so much going on. Teaching again full time has really taken a lot of time. Imagine -smile. Struggling

Today was frustrating for me and one of my teenage daughters. I have continued to say "NO" to a specific literary and cinema release. My daughter is probably the only one who has not participated in these things and she is frustrated. I know its hard; my parents did the same things with me. They said no to a lot of TV shows, movies, and music. It was frustrating; but today I'm thankful. I know I am not the only parent who is doing this. It is hard; because visually everywhere I look pretty much everyone is doing it. Do I back down now to make my daughter happy or do I persevere in protecting her in the long run? Truth says I'm doing the right thing; though feelings do not agree. I am purposely not giving specifics; because I do not want to argue with anyone. I feel strongly impressed by the Holy Spirit that this is what is right for my family. Let's just say that being a mom and raising your children is not easy and today is one of those days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Homecoming 08

Homecoming is always a huge deal in a small town. Everyone gets involved. Our elementary gets invited over the pep rally too. This year I was the elementary rep on the 80's dance. I used a pair of K's parachute pants, tux shirt, huge gaudy silver bow on my side pony tail, sh black vans (shoes), all the jewelry, blue eye shadow, leopard arm warmers, and tall mall bangs. We marched out on the gym floor and did a routine the cheerleaders taught us. I was a "celebrity" on the elementary campus with some of the students. I received comments all night from adults who witnessed my performance. Unfortuantely, I have no pics/video to share with the blog. (smile) I will leave it your imagination. All 3 girls went to homecoming with guys as "friends". Two of the boys came and asked K's permission. This year I just had to buy garters - much cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our godsister was the coming home queen and out on the field. This was cool, because k was with the drill team doing the "pom roll" as the court walked through. Afterwards K took I don't know how many adults, students, and vehicles to a Putt Putt in a large town for an all night lock out. Haven't heard much from the kids; but the adults loved it. smile.
The drill team had to do 60 high kicks in honor of the points we made. K made me a mum this year himself. Isn't that precious. Such an awesome husband I am blessed with on this earth. I had a picture made with my teaching buddy from last year. I also posted a picture of her children whom my kids regulary babysit. Aren't they cute?

We made a quick trip to K's parents this weekend. On the way we stopped by and visited with sweet friends. The girls have had withdrawals and needed some time with their true forever friends. We are definitely parents of a high schooler. We had to leave the oldest with a friend due to vball, drill team, and color guard practice. My sweet friend is moving and getting a new couch. She gave me her denim couch that I have almost coveted! smile. See the pic of her and her sweetie dogs on the couch. We had a good time visiting with K's parents. He put together another book shelf for them. Towards the end K's bro and my sissy - n- law, and nephew came over. They have a kitten Sp loves to play with. On the way home we stopped in at our accountability partner's house. They made us shishkabobs and let the girls swim in the pool.

I went to visit a sweet friend in the hospital. Actually she was in the youth group the first time we lived here. Boy, am I old!!! She is having quads. Please keep her in your prayers. She is staying in the hospital until the end of September. That is the goal. Pray for her health, the babies, and her family at home.

Next we went to see the impressionistic painters at Kimbell. My fellow french traveler and K went with me. My sweet husband had no desire to go; so he sent us girls off with his blessings. Friday night is half price night and so off we went. It was frustrating that we could not take pics. My fellow french traveler proceeded to tell the docent that we just came back from Paris and were allowed to take pictures there. smile. It didn't matter. We took pics outside though. Enjoy the "woman pleading for the museum" sculpture out front. K refused to have her pic taken with it. Of course I'm not embarressed. I won't ever see these people again. We had a tailpipe come loose. Yea for bungies. We ate at Mimi's. Yummo!!! K of course had to have dessert. We couldn't finish everything so we had to take it home!

Today I watched one of my sweetie pie jr. high girls pole and barrel race. It was fun. Hard to take action shots. I went to a wedding tonite and then out to eat with friends afterwards. Now I need to go over my Sunday School lesson.

God is so good. I missed this devotional yesterday in my email; but its exactly what God is doing now in our lives. I suscribe to Proverbs 31 ministries for their daily devotional. Its like a quick spiritual snack you can take at different times during the day. I felt compelled to put a copy of it here and encourage others. God is always at work behind the curtain. Sometimes we see it and other times we don't. Oh to walk in 100% trust and faith; knowing He has our best interests at heart. He is so faithful!!!!!!

Devotion:
In today’s key verse in Exodus, we’re given an update of the state of affairs in Egypt . Clearly, God’s people needed deliverance and provision. When I read this passage, what stands out to me isn’t the people’s situation but the number of times God is called “God.”

Read it out loud and see if it hits you too. In everyday conversation we don’t tend to repeat the name of the subject over and over in subsequent sentences. We say it once and then use pronouns like “He.” However, God is referenced by name 5 times in 2 sentences in this passage. Awkward? Maybe. Significant? Monumentally.

I think the purpose is to make it clear to us that God is the one in charge of all that is about to transpire. God will hear their cries, remember their situation, and look upon them with concern. Then God will initiate the activity that will set the captives free, bringing glory to His name.

The Israelites were crying out to God for help in their slavery, but had no way of knowing that their gracious God was already at work, calling Moses to be His mouthpiece and their deliverer from Egypt . God had heard their cries, but it would be some measure of time before they were aware that He had answered their prayers.

Patience is required for those who seek the face of God. He has the answer in hand before we even voice our need, but it may take some time to manifest. You’ll find many examples of this in Scripture, but can I offer you a more contemporary example?

The letter explained that God had laid our family on his heart a few days prior, and God had told him to send us some money. In fact, God had told him to send us $100.00!

So a letter left Georgia nearly a full day before our car was stolen and two days before we were aware of our desperate need for $100.00. Even before my sweet parents’ prayers had reached the throne room of heaven, our great God had provision on its way. Remarkable? Certainly. Significant? Monumentally!

God knew what His covenant people enslaved in Egypt needed in 1400 B.C. He knew what a poor seminary family in Fort Worth , Texas needed in 1979. And dear sister, He knows what you need today right this very minute. He knows what we need because He knows all the cares of our heart. He is intimately aware of all that happens to us, because it all comes through His hand purposed for His glory and for our good.

Dear Lord, remind me even in moments of desperation and fear that You are in control. Help me fight the temptation to worry or doubt your provision. Grant me the peace to accept Your will as your promise to protect and provide for me and my family. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

On Its Way – Part 1

We started several years ago having an annual family vacation with my parents. K plans and chaueffers, and they fund it. My dad loves the fact that he packs his suitcase, climbs in the car, and follows our plan. The last 2 years have been even more fun, since my sister has married and had a precious girl!!!! This year K took us to Grapevine to the Great Wolf Lodge. It is an awesome place to take your family. (The AAA discount helps!!!!)

One of the hazards of living in a small town is the neighborhood skunks. They sprayed the dogs the other night when we took them out to go potty. Our friends were staying with us that night. I read this book, the second in the series, on the way home from France. ( I had 9 hours!) I laughed and cried( a little embarrasing on the plane). The primary character is reading through Ephesians and so many things spoke to me and convicted me. I am now reading through Ephesians myself. Funny, our pastor quoted a verse I had read in my quiet time. ( always a good sign that you are listening when God repeats himself to you!) I love Christian fiction that is entertaining yet helps encourage you spiritually. The third book is out the end of this month and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this author. She has lots of different books - give her a try!

Forever Friend Month

This has been a refreshing month. I went to see my forever friend across the ocean. I spent 14 straight days with another forever friend. I had a forever friend call today and refresh my spirit. I was able to spend time with my sister-n-law forever friend for a couple of days. I have the opportunity to see a forever friend and her family when they visit this weekend, and I see 2 more forever friends next week. Next month I get to spend time with my sister and mom. This seems like an oasis month of friendships. I also get to make memories with recently made friends tomorrow. Thank you God for these opportunities to be refreshed and loved. They love me for who I am and its nice to be vulnerable and myself with these friends who know me!

O.K. Panda mom this one's for you!!!!!

I have been to France and Colorado back to back and finally settling down to light for a little while. I arrived home from France and within 24 hours was on the road driving to Colorado. I literally drove 10 of the 15 hours. My body is so confused. I'm blaming it on the fact that I turned 40 this year even though I don't look it! smile.

My sweet man has been trying to get me over to France to see my childhood forever friend for 2 years. He didn't want to send me alone; so another sweet precious forever friend gladly volunteered to be my chaperone. Good thing, since I have the uncanny knack of coming home everytime there is some strike in transportation in Paris! This year it was the security team at the airport. We were able to witness their marching, singing, blowing whistles and beating drums as we grabbed a quick bite to eat. Fortunately, the people they flew over from Great Britain at the last moment were precious and spoke english. This year our conecting flight plugged into the outlet and blew power. It was the last flight from Chicago to the metroplex on the 4th of July! smile. I love to have drama!!!! They finally found a part in the wearhouse.

Here's a couple of pics and I will post more as I settle in. It was wonderful to see my sweet friend and just spend time with her. Her children are growing up so fast and I was so blessed to spend time with them and watch her mother them. They also enjoyed trying to teach us French.

Both Sp and K promoted this year. One to jr. high and one to high school. They both received several awards and we were so excited and blessed. K received the presidential award, commended in social studies and reading, tech apps, tiger pride for athletics, and student of the year voted by faculty.

Sp received commended on math, reading, and spelling. She also received student of the year and the principals award among others. We are so pleased for the awards they received for their character. We continue to pray that they will walk in that path.

Tonight as I scanned the news on the internet I found that Steven Curtis Chapman's youngest daughter was tragically killed by one of her brothers as he entered their driveway. K and I stopped to pray for the grief of this family. According to the news several family members witnessed the accident. Please take time today to pray for this precious family.

Prince Caspian

We went to a larger town last night to watch the movie Prince Caspian. (We needed stadium seating and surround speakers for this movie.) We loved it. The girls and I have the audio read aloud cd's of all the books. It was fun to see how close they stayed to the original. My hubby's favorite line was when Aslan told Lucy " You could have come alone." in response to why she didn't come when she saw him. I wonder how many times Christ has said this to us. Oh to have complete trust in Him to go alone!

We had the cutest Gama Gama Meeting this week. Shoes was the theme. We had piggies, shoe horns (bugles), bunyons (funyons), and cup cake cones in shape of a flip flop. Our sweet godsister did the cutest devotion on shoes. The girls then made flip flops. H said that our feet point the direction we walk. There were some really cute verse analysis that went with the shoes.

The music teacher came in and asked me to make sure and bring my camera tomorrow for the talent show. One of the students is hypnotizing a chicken on stage. She just knew my city friends would enjoy this on my blog. Bet you can't wait!

In the mean time I am recovering from strep throat. I had 2 large shots that are seeming to do the trick. One made me limp out of the dr.'s office. The nurse asked me not to do that because it made her look bad. smile.

K survived the absess/infection in his foot and another antibiotic he is intolerant of - the list is growing. The foot dr. froze his foot hoping that the open wound will close soon. Aren't we a pair. God has been so real and speaking to me. Will share more of that with you later. We are on a new layer of me. Glad I am an onion and have lots of layers.

I get to go to my mommy's for loving and watch a baby that is learning to crawl this weekend. On the way I get to stop at Chick fil A - Wahooo! The best would be if my sweet hubby could come along with us. Maybe next time.

Being from the city I am continuously surprised at some of the things we do. One is the annual Ag trip that the 4th-5th graders take every year. We found out how to vaccinate cows and give them pills. I also found out you can measure the ankle of a cow and know its weight without using a scale. We learned about people who are harvesting hamsters for all the national retailers. They can have babies every 18 days! They are majorly regulated by the govt. We had the chance to pet several species of goats and a calf. We found out about bee keeping. The students were also given worms to take home to start a compost. This literally weirded out of my teaching buddies. Think of 48 styrofoam cups of worms on the bus ride home. smile. We found out about cows. Did you know they make beef jerky out of dairy cows? We learned about grain etc. The ethanol corn fuel they are making is from different corn than the corn we eat. We saw dead fish on ice and found out about cotton gins.

I read this a couple of days ago during my devotion time. I've been meditating on it for several days really trying to let it sink in and be real to me. Through the lines I've shared some struggles we have been facing through deaths and major surgeries and there have been others. Due to ministry, I can't share (those of you who know me well, understand) I am very exhausted at this point emotionally and in my soul. I know only God can fill me, but I'm so dry its going to take awhile to get the tank full. smile. This past week during Taks time I meditated on scripture as I walked around the room. In Isaiah 43

Do not fear for I am with you - I have redeemed you and summoned you by name YOU are MINE! When you walk through the waters I will be with you. When you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire you will not be burned. The flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the holy one of Israel the Lord your God. - Since you are precious in my sight.

Oh to let those words wash over me. Our year has been full and the accumulation of those things has taken its toll. "We are not ignorant of his devices" one always gets attacked when we are tired and least expect it. I'm asking the Lord what ugliness that has risen to the top in me needs to be scraped off so I will be the pure "silver" is He planning for me to be. I am reminded of the guys in the firey furnace. The only thing that burned were the ropes that held them. What ropes is God removing from me now?

You let men ride over our heads;

We went through fire and water,

but you brought us to a place of abundance.

I love the fact that there is a promise at the end of the struggle. We don't give up, but we press through. Faith presses through. I can hear Beth Moore's voice saying that in my head. smile. I always tell my SS girls I hope God lets my voice ring in their heads with His words when they need to hear them!

May you be encouraged today wherever you are that you are Loved and known by name to our Heavenly Father the source of our help, love, and completeness!

Springtime in the Country

We went to our friends the other day for homemade icecream-mocha cookies and cream-yum. We saw baby goats and kittens. It is still such a fun experience for our city kids. Our friends are so sweet. We laugh because he may be K's Ag teacher next year. There are a ton of Ag electives here!

K played vball for the A team the other day. She also had to play for the b team because they were short some players. 6 games in one evening!

New Cheerleader

Sh made cheerleader this past Friday. She tried out after encouragement from her sister on Thursday afternnoon. We had to wait until Friday afternoon after school for them to post it. K made drill team for the high school. I guess you know where I'll be every Thursday and Friday night next Fall.

Family

My brother -n-law and sister - n - law came in to help celebrate my birthday last weekend. We had such a precious time together. They helped us to relax and rejuvenate. We had lots of healthy laugher and fun!

Contract

I received an official contract and am hired for next year. I just sense God's presence and timing in all of this. So many opportunities to minister and love on others. So many students to pray for often! My precious principal is so encouraging to me. (Sp loves the fact I can heat up her food in the teacher's lounge. Just a little perk!)

My 40ieth

I had an awesome bday. My parents were here for legal issues with the aunt that passed away a couple of months ago, when my other aunt passed away so they stayed on because we are closer to her hometown. They took me out for my birthday to a pasta place and supported my scrapbook habit. smile. They were here to wish me happy birthday the morning of my bday. My European friend had an email waiting for me on my birthday morning. I arrived at school to find that my sweet friend had posted on the flashing school board in the parking lot "Lordy, Lordy, Mrs _-is forty today!!!" You can imagine the responses I got all day. 30 of the fourth graders were hiding in the hall way to surprise me with a happy birthday. My sweet friend had them help decorate my room with black balloons and crepe paper. There was also a sign on my door saying "40 looks good on you!" All the kids wanted to sign my poster. My principal left snacks in my box and a DIET coke! K brought me lunch, and another friend brought me a diet coke. Our good friends took us to Texas De BRazil to celebrate. I had lots of emails, cards, gifts, and phone calls. Due to our precious sign I received phone calls all weekend. People love to wish others a happy fortieth. My favorite was that my students kept asking if black was my favorite color. I would try to explain, but they don't get adult humor.

UIL District Champs

My girls competed in the OAP UIL district meet on my birthday last week. They placed first with K making all star cast. She also made drill team last week. Sh did great on the crew. I was proud of both of them. My parents were able to see the play due to my other aunt passing away last week. My dad 1 of 8 is now the only one left. K was amazing, and scared us to death when she almost fell out of the wheel chair on stage down stairs. Whewwww!

Sunday Night Blessing

We were so blessed to have the opportunity to baptize 9 students that have made decisions for Christ this past year. The cool thing was that people set foot in church that never been there before. We had just as many for this evening service as the morning service. During our fellowship afterwards two young men were dropped off at our church on a series of quests. The first envelope they opened was to share their testimony. Their home church was 100 miles away and they had never been to our town. They didn't pronouce it correctly - big clue! Their second mission was to get one of our church members to at least drive them 5 miles home. It was such a God ordained event on top of an already amazing evening. One dad hadn't come to church in 17 years. His daughter was so excited that he hit it off with K. God does such great things.

Princess Retreat

Honey has been very sympathetic with K she doesn't leave his side.

4 handed piano piece with our pianist. She turns 90 this November.

K ran 2400 too and the mile relay almost back to back!

It has been an insane week. smile. I've been evaluated, K still can't do much because of surgery, Sp gymnastic lessons in another town, district track meet, Taks tutoring, learning a 4 handed piano piece for church, and Princess REtreat. I feel like I have been run over by a truck. God is so faithful. I look back and wished I had spent more time in prayer this week, but regardless of me He proved himself faithful. I am so blessed by new friends and old friends who helped me with this weekend. Friends yelling out the parking lot window as they pick up their kids from school that they are praying for me. Huge blessing!!!!!! Pics will follow soon. I turn 40 in a couple of weeks and 2 1/2 hours of sleep on a hard floor is taking a bigger toll! I'm looking forward to a simpler week. My mom laughs because she says I always say that and it never is. Oh well, we also got new phones this week and added texting. The girls are so excited. It has been simpler with trying to coordinate One act play rehersals, track practice, drill team practice etc.

Easter Happenings

F's first easter egg hunt. Actually sat in Grandpa's lap while her cousins and mother ran all over the backyard. She moved her head constantly trying to keep up!
