We are so blessed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9 years ago February 8, will be the anniversary of K's cancer diagnosis. We went to Dallas for a yearly checkup. We are still awaiting blood results, but our dr. was pretty sure things were great! The cool thing is that he asked Kto go upstairs and see a girl who is 9 that has ovarian cancer that is rare but not as rare as K's. K was so precious with her, and you can tell it really encouraged the mother. Please pray for them. God has used our struggles to help us encourage others. Taking blood is always traumatic for us. This time we used emla cream and a freezing spray. It worked. Look at that smile while they are taking blood. I also included a picture of our precious dr. K was his first patient at the hospital after he moved here from another state. God's timing is always so good! Rejoice with us!!!!! Oh, on our way home we stopped at Hobby Lobby and some other stores and ran into some friends!

Hats Around The World

One of the cool things we tried to do this time at Epcot was try on different hats in different countries. Italy only had elaborate masks that were approx. $100. a piece. We shied away from those - imagine.

Mount Everest

We rode the new ride at animal kingdom.- 55 miles an hour -forwards - backwards - 80 foot drop - 35 foot Yedi. It was crazy!!!! Some of my family rode it four times in one day. We met a friend at Give the Kids World Village who worked at AK. He walked us on to the ride and let us see in the control room. He also gave us fast passes. We bought the actual picture of us on the ride, but we also took some in the sample car by the line. We reinacted our fear!

One of my favorites. . .

One of my favorite pictures was this one. We took it at the Magic Kingdom at night. I love my Prince Charming!

Thigh Burner

One fun thing we wanted to do at D this time was ride one of the four-five seater bicycle. Going up hill will literally kill you. We enjoyed riding around our hotel and the board walk. I used muscles I didn't know I had. We've thought about getting one of those contraptions because of the workout you get.

Ministry Opportunity

We were blessed to get to volunteer one night at GIVE KIDS THE WORLD. We stayed there almost 9 years ago because of K. They house families of critically ill children and make their dream vacation come true. Everything there is catered to sick children. We were so blessed. I smiled so much, my face hurt. There were several families to whom we were able to minister. Some of the parents recieved so much hope from the thought that they would come back and volunteer some day with their children. We met awesome people from the USA and several other countries. Big K made balloon animals for almost 3 straight hours. K and Sp face painted. Their mickey mouse face with fireworks became quite a hit. Sh helped with the balloon lollipop craft. I got to work in the ice cream shop. I never made so many banans splits in my life!! I also made lots and lots of shakes. It was such a healing time for K. She was very apprehensive about going back. They put every ill child's name on a star and place it on a ceiling. We found K's. We forgot we had let her write on it when she had just turned four! Again we were so blessed! We recieved a special edition candy land that Hasbro has made for the village, because the girls helped with the giant candyland game as well.

Ministry Opportunity

Christmas eve morning, the special music did not work out at church and so K stepped in and did a beautiful job on the piano. We were so proud. The other cool thing is that Grandma and Grandpa who have been paying for her lessons were able to hear her as well. Our organist said she loved seeing the look of pride on my daddy's face. I didn't take my camera so we staged a picture Sunday night. smile. Sunday night I accompanied our music minister on the piano while he sang and played the violin to Mary Did you Know. I so enjoyed it. Even though I was nervous, I was so thankful to use my gift for the Lord. Kelly helped plan the Christmas eve service. It was precious. Children unwrapped large presents that represented Christ. We had a lamb, manger, cross, candle, door, and crown. My parents were there to hear Kelly speak and me play. It was a special evening. Our church secretary is holding the lamb. I also included the pastor's wife and daughter. I told her I would post a normal picture of her since I posted the one of her as Mother superior during the fall.

Another Christmas Surprise

When we shared with some family friends we were surprising the girls with a trip to Disney, we found they were doing the same thing with their children at the same time. We decided to meet up with them during part of our trip. The next day after Christmas we told them they were going to go to Disney together. I love the look on their faces!!!!

Christmas Surprise

We had an awesome Christmas. My parents and sister traveled with us to stay with my in-laws. K's brother and wife and kids also came. We spent 2 nights and 3 days together. We had 17 stockings out. My sister-n-law's parents came over plus several uncles, aunts, cousins, and our greatgrandmother. What a blessed time to all be together and get along. We are blessed! We surprised the girls with a trip to Disney World.

Winter Wonderland

We had 3-4 inches of Snow - not ice- but SNOW!!!!!!! The girls had so much fun. School was cancelled for the 2nd day this week. They go to school at 10:30 today. We went out to our godparents and walked to the creek. We had mini snowball fights there and back. I tried to hide behind the camera to no avail. People just have no respect when it comes to snow. It was so much fun to walk in soft powder. They're saying we may get more in a couple of days. The dogs loved it. They won't go outside if its raining, but they loved the snow. We had flakes as big as a quarter fall. I should have gotten my camera out then.
